Marshall has raised some very good points, although I'm a little curious about what he means by "recent events". Can someone expand on that? Are we talking about a vendor reducing their work force or a development taken a mis-guided direction or what? We're really struggling from a consortium perspective with what patron codes and items types to limit our members to. We're also not sure how to divide things between Collection Code and Shelving Location. We're looking for examples of what other consortium have done. Would anyone be willing to share their parameters with us in these four areas? Looking at some consortium implementations of Koha it seems that item types (DVDs) and location codes (genealogy, ref) are being used as if they were the same thing for the advanced search by consortium, is that correct? However it won't bring in a picture if the 13 digit ISBN in the MARC record in the 020 is first. If we put the 10 digit first in the 020 and move down the 13 the picture comes in. If we have a book that only has a 13 digit ISBN we do not get a picture. We also do not seem to get pictures for our DVD. Any suggestions? Another question we I have. We import our records through Z39.50 target. When the record comes in it brings in maybe 10 to 30 852 MAR tags which are Location/call number. Is there be a way to block that on our import? Has anyone else chosen to use the other sources of possible covers that are available in the parameters? If so, do you think you get as many "hits" or any other observations (like this ISBN issue). I'd like to see some information on use of the other types of cover art. As to your second question, I feel that I did set that type of parameter somewhere. But try as I might I can't find it now.
